Forget Me Not, a USA-based startup, was founded by an individual who recently lost his father to cancer. The platform allows individuals nearing the end of their lives to record and save video and audio messages for their loved ones, scheduled for future delivery on special occasions. They aim to provide an innovative health-tech solution that helps maintain emotional bonds and provides lasting comfort for families even after their loved ones have passed. However, the founder faced significant challenges in bringing this heartfelt vision to life.

The Challenge

A Fractional CTO without Sacrificing Equity

6PM provided a fractional CTO to bring expert leadership without requiring equity sacrifice. The fractional CTO worked closely with Product Managers to align with Kinetic Marketplace’s vision of ensuring secure and verified transactions for buyers and sellers.

Building a Scalable Tech Stack

Implemented the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) for a robust and scalable technology solution. Ensured the technology could seamlessly support the platform’s future growth and adaptability.

Creating an Effective Product Roadmap

Developed a six-month product roadmap to guide the development and implementation of the platform. Ensured the roadmap addressed the integration of new processes and technologies smoothly.

Client Involvement

The founder spent significant time with the leadership role and designers, participating in around 12 workshops and producing 13 detailed documents.
This active involvement and thorough documentation helped to effectively organize and refine the project ideas, ensuring alignment with the founder’s vision.

Execute: Building & Leading a High-Velocity Remote Team

With a solid plan in place, 6PM moved to the execution phase, focusing on building and leading a high-performing remote team

High-Performance Development Team

  • Finalized the technology stack and recruited a team of high-performing developers and designers efficient in the MERN stack.
  • The CTO and Product Managers led the hiring process, ensuring the team’s skills aligned with Forget Me Not’s technological needs.
